Paris-based public sale home Artcurial was in Monaco not too long ago for a “return to the Rock” sale of bijou, watches, classic Hermes style and collector vehicles. The 90 vehicles on the docket contributed $8.three million towards the general gross sales complete of $16.1 million, Artcurial reported.
Whereas an emerald-cut 10.42 carat diamond ring offered for $957,372, the highest sale of the auctions was a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing coupe that had been pushed solely 38,000 miles since new. The automobile offered for $1.416 million.
A 1990 Ferrari F40 introduced $1,093,944 and a 1957 300 SL roadster went for $978,348.
Among the many public sale highlights was a 1962 Bentley S3 Continental cabriolet by Park Ward that was bought new by singer Eddie Fisher, who on the time was married to actress Elizabeth Taylor. The automobile offered for $346,650.
