GM, Verizon install 5G technology at Detroit plant


DETROIT — Common Motors stated it has signed on with telecommunications big Verizon to put in 5G know-how at its meeting plant in Detroit.

Verizon’s 5G Extremely Wideband service is working now at GM’s electrical automobile plant, Manufacturing unit Zero, according to a GM statement Friday.

“Manufacturing unit Zero shall be GM’s flagship meeting plant in our journey to an all-electric future,” Phil Kienle, GM vice chairman of North America Manufacturing and Labor Relations, stated within the assertion.

GM Chief Data Officer Randy Mott informed Automotive Information in an e-mail that GM crops are advancing and a quick, dependable community is a big a part of the plan.
